AXIS Pharmacy Northwest has awarded Dee Dee Carpenter, compounding technician, the honor of “Employee of the Quarter” for Q3 2021.

Her demeanor sets the tone for the lab, and frankly, the department. Things can get hectic in this environment, yet she maintains an even keel and does her best, which typically exceeds expectations, and makes our customers very happy. Dee Dee understands that each prescription is being compounded for an individual person or pet. In one or two sentences, provide a brief description of “A Day In the Life” at your job.
My job includes the labeling and mixing of prescription medications for both human and animal use. I primarily make suspensions, but I can also prepare capsules, creams and ointments, troches, and suppositories.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
I love to hear “Thanks so much!” from our customers when we provide something that truly works well for them.
What is your favorite part about working at AXIS Pharmacy Northwest?
I love our team. Everyone is friendly, and I feel everyone goes above and beyond to help our customers.
What advice would you give to someone looking to get into your line of work?
My advice would be to remember that there are people behind each prescription and what is most important is what is best for each customer.
Tell us about some things you like to do outside of work.
I enjoy traveling with my husband (especially to Cannon Beach), wine tasting, reading, hanging out with friends, and watching professional football.

What is one of your most prized possessions?
We have two wonderful cats, Max and Izzy. They provide my family and me with endless entertainment.

I think a rabbit, as you have to be able to hop around and wear multiple hats.
What superpower would you choose for yourself?
Never-ending energy!
